The connection of the device to be dissipated to the heat sink is especially important as for a poor heat transfer, i.e. from the device to the heatsink, the heat conduction respectively the heat transition is reduced and the device temperature will be significantly increased. An optimal heat transfer can only be achieved if the inevitable tolerances, unevennesses and roughnesses of the surfaces to be connected which occur by production processes will be equalised.
